| 英文描述 | The gram-negative bacterium TAYLORELLA EQUIGENITALIS is the cause of contagious equine metritis in mares. It is spread by genital contact or fomites and signs usually start 2-10 days after breeding. Infertility due to infection is usually temporary with no long-term adverse effects on fertility. Outbreaks have occurred in stables in the U.S. and Europe. Males do not show signs of disease but can be carriers. There is some evidence that this organism might cause abortion. |
